A beautiful wife thinks and overthinks every aspect of her and her husband’s life. Good sex scene in chapter called Thursday. Much anxiety and fear. Great picture of a woman’s (man’s) troubled mind about sex, relationships, children and the serious differences between two people who love/hate each other. An excellent picture of what happens when a couple keep secrets and don’t tell the truth to each other.

FREUD ON NETFLIX

 Freud’s Last Session on Netflix

Sigmund Freud and C. S. Lewis debate discuss and tease each other in this delightful TV drama. Freud is played by Anthony Hopkins and Lewis by Matthew Goode. The dying Freud asserts the absurdity of God, evil and death. Lewis a younger  Oxford don and veteran of WW1 is a devout intellectual Christian who is willing to listen to and discuss these issues without being judgmental or dogmatic. Freud’s obsession with his daughter, her devotion to him are shown in her revelation of her lesbianism to his unbelieving eye. Lewis fright after the death of his friend during the war reveal he has not fully dealt with this trauma.

The show is a witty, serious and dramatic discussion of the existence of God, evil and the nature of the human condition. Freud sticks to his scientific and rational atheism. Lewis shows a God who is found in and through all of life, nature and creation.
